How to Check Case Status in the EOIR Portal
- EOIR is the United States government agency in charge of the nation’s immigration courts. “EOIR” stands for “Executive Office for Immigration Review.”
- The EOIR portal reports the status of your immigration removal proceedings, including the date of your next court hearing.
- Many recently arrived immigrants are not yet in the system, which means that their removal proceedings have not yet begun.
- We suggest that people enter their A-Number, the unique 9-digit number issued by immigration authorities to a person when they enter the United States, into the EOIR portal each week until they see their information and next hearing date updated in the system.
- It is very important to go to every immigration court hearing that is scheduled in your case. If you do not appear on the day you are scheduled then the immigration judge may order you deported from the United States.
